Terrorism financing convict sent to high security prison for 8.5 years
ST. PETERSBURG, October 10 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – A citizen of Tajikistan Shakhid Urazov sentenced to 8.5 years for financing terrorism has been sent to a high security prison, RAPSI has learnt in the press service of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
A military court convicted and sentenced the defendant on September 13. In early October, the sentence came into force.
According to the FSB directorate, Urazov transferred over 100,000 rubles to the members of an illegal armed group participating in fighting against government forces of Syria.
