MOSCOW, December 9 (RAPSI) – Ex-chief of the anti-corruption department of the Interior Ministry’s Altai Krai Main Directorate Vadim Nadvotsky has been sentenced to 4 years in penal colony for receiving a 12.9 million-ruble bribe (over $200,000), the press service of Russia’s Investigative Committee reports.

Additionally, he has been ordered to pay a 25.8 million-ruble fine (about $405,000), the statement reads.

According to investigators, from 2016 to 2018, the defendant received the bribe from an executive director of two related petrol trade companies for common protection and condoning attitude. Nadvotsky was given the money in parts for three years through an intermediary.

He was arrested in November 2018. During the investigation, the former anti-corruption official pleaded guilty.
