MOSCOW, June 2 (RAPSI) – A resident of Yoshkar-Ola in Russia’s Mari El Republic received 2.5 years in high-security prison for the organization of illegal card game poker club, RAPSI learnt in the press service of the republican Investigative Committee directorate on Tuesday.

Two his accomplices were given a 2.5-year suspended sentence each. One of them was additionally fined 150,000 rubles.

According to the investigation, the gambling organizer involved two his friends in the illegal business. One of the accomplices was earlier convicted of murder and robbery. They organized the illegal poker club in one of the city’s building and held games there from November 2018 to September 2019, the statement reads.
