MOSCOW, August 12 (RAPSI) – Investigators had launched seven more cases against Vladimir Vorontsov, the creator of the Telegram channel called Police Ombudsman, attorney Sergey Tyulenev told RAPSI on Wednesday.

Six new cases are opened over insulting a representative of authorites and one more is over porno peddling. In total, Vorontsov is defendant in 14 criminal cases, the defense lawyer said.

Charges have been already brought in cases over extortion and porno peddling. According to the police, the defendant has demanded the money for non-distribution of personal photos.

From 2012 to 2017, the victim served in Moscow police. In October 2017, the suspect called him and demanded 300,000 rubles threatening to publicly share his personal photos, the statement reads. The victim refused and his photos were published in the Telegram channel.

The defendant could face up to 7 years in jail if convicted of extortion.
