Two defendants in crime lord murder case face jury trial
MOSCOW, March 26 (RAPSI) – A case over the 2009 murder of crime lord Vyacheslav “Yaponchik” Ivankov against two defendants Dzhambula Dzhanashia and Murtaza Shadaniya will be heard by jurors, the Moscow City Court’s press service has told RAPSI.
The jury selection is scheduled for April 14.
Indictment was earlier approved against three defendants charged with murder and illegal keeping of weapon. They are in detention now.
According to the investigation, Ivankov, the so-called “thief-in-law,” who at the time was the top boss in the criminal hierarchy, was murdered on July 28, 2009.
