Russian Police Code of Ethics

Special documents that regulate the conduct and work of the Russian Ministry of the Interior include instructions for Russian police officers.

The first document, the Code of Honor of Police Officers and Commanders, is a list of general rules.

The second document, the Russian Police Code of Professional Ethics, is more detailed, and includes 28 articles.

Police officers must not be arrogant, rude, or self-important, or make inappropriate remarks to people; they must not make illegal or unwarranted accusations, threats, use insulting expressions; start arguments, discussions or actions that interfere with normal socializing, or provoke illegal behavior; conduct passport, migration card and any document checks without cause or foundation.
