MOSCOW, May 17 -RAPSI. The fine for rally violations may be cut to $32,285 during the consideration of a draft law in the second reading, State Duma Committee for Constitutional Legislation head Vladimir Piligin told journalists on Thursday.

The first reading has been scheduled for May 18. The draft law proposes increasing the fine for individuals to 1 million rubles ($32,285) and to 1.5 million for officials ($48,427).

"Sanctions may be reduced from the highest threshold by 500,000 rubles ($16,142)," Pligin said.

Therefore, the maximum fine might be reduced to 500,000 rubles ($16,142) for individuals and to 1 million rubles ($32,285) for officials.

At the same time, Pligin said he will be waiting for amendments from deputies, although he does not rule out the possibility that he will make amendments himself.
