MOSCOW, May 5 (RAPSI) – Lawmakers of the Russian parliament’s lower house, the State Duma, are drafting a bill seeking to put a cap on football players’ salaries, the vice-president of the State Duma Committee on physical training and sports Dmitriy Svishev said on Monday.

“A lot of consultations are held. (Football) clubs lobby is severe,” Mir 24 TV channel quoted Svishev as having said.

The question with the football players’ salaries is on the agenda and it is going to be solved soon, according to the lawmaker.

The Russian National Football League (FNL) is expected to officially implement the rule capping salaries in April. The highest monthly salary of a National Football League player should not exceed 300,000 rubles (approximately $8,300).
