MOSCOW, September 2 (RAPSI) – The Russian government reported Tuesday that a legislative commission has approved a bill aimed at enhancing border security.

The bill provides conditions for signing agreements with countries adjacent to Russia on the joint operation of checkpoints.

The bill is aimed at lifting bureaucratic hurdles at the border, reducing border wait time, and improving border crossing conditions.

The bill also proposes giving the Federal Security Service (FSB) the right to use its forces to help border guards.
