MOSCOW, September 23 (RAPSI) - The Russian Government has rejected a bill on private military companies as proposed by parliamentary member Gennady Nosovko (A Just Russia), Izvestia reports on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, officials from the Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Federal Security Service found the bill untimely and contradictory to Russian law. However, the author intends to make changes to the document and try to prove to the Government that a private army is necessary in Russia. Nosovko expects that the altered bill will reach the Government for a second consideration in November.

As stipulated by the bill, private military companies would be able to provide military, security and advisory services to the state as well as companies and individuals, under the strict supervision of the authorities.

The author of the bill believes a private army would provide employment to thousands of security service and military personnel after quitting or being discharged.
