MOSCOW, April 19 (RAPSI) - A member of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, Vitaly Milonov, has sent a letter to communications regulator Roskomnadzor and Russia's children's rights ombudsman Pavel Astakhov containing a proposal to give parents full access to their children’s social media accounts, RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday.

The proposal is aimed to prevent children from possible contacts with terrorists and other ill-minded persons, according to the lawmaker’s press service.

Under the initiative, parents would gain total control over their child’s social media page during his or her minority.

Moreover, parents would possess a right to blocking suspicious users who take overdue interest in minors’ accounts.
