MOSCOW, May 16 (RAPSI) - Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has affirmed a decision of the National Security and Defense Council to extend and expand sanctions against certain Russian citizens and companies.

The order was published on the official website of the Ukrainian President on Tuesday.

According to the document, 1,228 people and 468 companies have been added to the sanctions list.

Individual restrictive measures include among others ban on entry into Ukraine for up to 3 years; blocking of assets for up to 3 years; prohibition on participation in privatization, lease of government-owned property; cancellation of official visits, meetings and negotiations; deprivation of state awards; ban on establishment of a business connection and carrying on business in Ukraine.

Blocking of assets would be applied to companies as well. Moreover, legal entities would be restricted from trading. Sanctions against companies also include suspension of executing economical and financial obligations and measures on prevention of disinvestment.

A ban would be imposed on government procurement from companies put under the sanctions. Such legal entities would not be able to carry currency values inwards and outwards.

The order also stipulates prohibition on technological transfer and transmission of intellectual property rights.

Sanctions would apply to a range of Russia’s State Duma lawmakers, media outlets including Rossiya Segodnya information agency, RBC, TV channels Zvezda, TVC, NTV Plus, Ren TV, Nashe Radio, companies Kaspersky Lab, Dr.Web and others. Such social networks as Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki.ru as well as Internet resources Yandex and Mail.ru have been also put on the sanctions list.
