MOSCOW, February 16 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Justice Ministry is drafting a bill to prohibit persons suspected of implication in terrorist activities from establishing NGOs, the ministry’s statement reads.

Amendments would be proposed to the federal laws “On NGOs”, “On Social Associations”, “On Freedom of Conscience and Concerning Religious Associations”.

Under the bill, persons, whose monetary or other assets have been blocked (frozen) upon the decision of the Intergovernmental commission for combating the financing of terrorism, would be banned from being founders or members of NGOs.

This measure will limit the use of non-profit sector for terrorism financing purposes, the document reads.
