MOSCOW, May 30 (RAPSI, Nikita Shiryayev) – Russia’s Deputy Minister of Justice Denis Novak said during a roundtable conference held by the All-Russia civil forum on Wednesday that a list of information that could not be disclosed by attorneys without the consent of their clients should be extended.

The law on advocacy contains provision prohibiting lawyers from disclosing information received from their clients during legal assistance.

According to Novak, the law is to be amended by a norm obliging attorneys not to disclose client information taken in a different way, in particular by means of a lawyer request, if such information requires to be confidential.
