MOSCOW, November 5 (RAPSI) – A draft law envisaging installation of Russian software on certain technically sophisticated goods was adopted in the first reading, the State Duma website informs Tuesday.

The list of such gadgets will be approved by the Russian government, according to the bill. Smartphones, computers and TVs having the smart-TV function are named among devices facing Russian soft installation.

The initiative gives Russian companies legal routes for promoting their programs, an explanatory note to the document reads.

If passed, the bill would come into force on July 1, 2020.
