MOSCOW, December 2 (RAPSI) – President of Russia Vladimir Putin has conferred powers to repress the use of air drones by citizens for unlawful purposes to law enforcement bodies. A version of the signed law has been published on the official website of legal information.

The law is to fill gaps in present legislation by defining powers on this matter of Russia’s National Guard, Federal Guard Service, Interior Ministry, Federal Security Service and Foreign Intelligence Service.

According to one of the document’s authors, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Counteracting Corruption Vasily Piskarev, the initiative would authorize these bodies to identify a drone, get onto its external pilot in all circumstances or change its flight path without damages.

If a drone threatens someone’s life or health or endangers the security of strategic or critical infrastructural facilities its flight may be forcibly stopped by law enforcement officer, the law reads.
