MOSCOW, March 16 (RAPSI) — Another 2.7 billion rubles ($37 million at the current exchange rate) are to be allocated to Russia’s regions for provision of free medicines to patients with coronavirus infection. This directive has been signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers explained that the measure concerns patients who receive medical care on an outpatient basis, that is, are treated at home under the supervision of doctors. To prevent an unfavorable course of the disease and development of complications, they are prescribed combined treatment regimens. All necessary medications are provided free of charge if prescribed by doctors.

Earlier, more than 10.7 billion rubles ($147 million) were allocated for these purposes. The issue was considered and approved at a government meeting held on March 11.
