MOSCOW, September 27 - RAPSI. United Russia deputy Vladimir Burmatov has requested that the Prosecutor General's Office find out whether Pussy Riot attorney Violetta Volkova has taken part in any corporate raids, Izvestia newspaper reports.

The request was in response to a letter from a member of the public, Roman Legetsky, addressed to Vladimir Burmatov claiming that there are links on the internet to LiveJournal and zahvat.ru, a website on corporate raids, and screenshots of web-pages showing that Violetta Volkova took part in certain raids. Allegedly, Volkova was spotted in various property operations, and she also is said to have published personal data from a police report without consent, to have circulated a hacked traffic police database and even to have sold promissory notes.

Vladimir Burmatov believes that if the claims in the letter are proven, Volkova could be stripped of her legal license and forced to quit her practice.
The MP has sent a request to the Prosecutor General's Office (addressed to Yuri Chaika) to check the accuracy of the information.
Burmatov believes that the law enforcement authorities should establish whether there is any truth in these claims, as in theory anyone could post under Volkova's name on those sites.

However, Legetsky pointed to links to an online profile which displays her real personal information, including her telephone number and even birthday wishes.

The MP believes that the check could result in various scenarios; if it is confirmed that it really was Volkova who committed the aforementioned actions, an investigation will follow.

Andrei Knyazev, chairman of the Moscow Board of Attorneys, told Izvestia that Volkova may need legal help if substantial proof is found.

Volkova believes that all accusations against her are false, however, she does not yet seem keen to file a defamation lawsuit.
