MOSCOW, November 19 - RAPSI. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has said that those guilty of crimes such as that which occurred at the recent Dynamo vs. Zenit football match when one of the goalkeepers was injured by a firecracker thrown from the crowd, should be imprisoned. He ordered that the legislation be amended to prevent anything of the kind from happening again.

The match between Dynamo and Zenit on November 17 was called off when fans began setting off firecrackers. Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin is suffering from chemical burns to his cornea. Medvedev said on his Facebook page that the incident was despicable and proposed to consider new measures for preventing this sort of thing from occurring in the future.

"The crime was intentional. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with this, but we need to draw up amendments aimed at preventing these kinds of crimes," Medvedev said at a meeting with the deputy premier ministers.

He said that anyone guilty of a crime of this kind should be sent to prison.

Medvedev added that this is not only a matter for the police, but also a matter for the stadium's administration, for sport societies and for fans.
