BAKU, December 4 - RAPSI, Geray Dadashev. A Baku court for grave offences handed down the ruling to a group of individuals accused of planning terrorist attacks during the international Eurovision Song Contest 2012, the court's representative told RIA Novosti.

One individual was sentenced to 14 years in prison, another was sentenced to 13.5 years, while the other two were convicted of 13 years imprisonment.

During the build up to the song contest, the Azerbaijani National Security Ministry held an special operation in Baku, and Ganja, Sumgayit and the north-west of the country; a total of 40 individuals were detained during the operation.

They were eventually charged with different counts, including planning to carry out terrorist attack during the contest.

The investigation of cases regarding the other detained individuals continues.

The international Eurovision Song Contest 2012 was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 22-26.
