MOSCOW, December 20 - RAPSI. Several criminal cases have been initiated against former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov; though no liability has been imposed upon him yet, as it is yet too early, President Vladimir Putin said after the news conference.

When answering the journalist's question as to why no liability has been imposed on Luzhkov, Putin said that in fact several cases have been initiated against Luzhkov.
And he said that it is yet "too early" to subject Luzhkov to liability.

Last year Luzhkov was questioned in relation to the Bank of Moscow embezzlement case. Development company controlled by his wife, Russia's richest woman, Yelena Baturina was allegedly connected to the scheme which allegedly led to a fradulent loan of $419.6 million later syphoned out of the bank's active capital.
