MOSCOW, August 23 (RAPSI) – Russian state-owned airline Aeroflot has been fined 8,073 million rubles (app. $245,000) by Moscow Region authorities for violating antimonopoly law after the company’s strategic agreement with Sheremetyevo Airport arroused suspicion, PRIME business news agency reported Friday.

The agreement concluded between Aeroflot and Sheremetyevo contained a provision under which the airline carrier flights were given a 30-minute priority in service.

Both parties has reportedly amended the agreement, and received the approval of the antimonopoly agency.

Sheremetyevo was fined 100,000 rubles (app. $3,000) earlier as well.

The fine is determined by the operating income of the company, according to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
