MOSCOW, March 3 (RAPSI) - The Russian police authority is ready to provide jobs to Ukrainian police officers, the Russian Interior Ministry reported Monday.

Earlier, the Moscow Department of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that the Moscow police is considering forming a squadron of former Berkut officers and provide them with dormitory accommodation.

Last November a political crisis broke out in Ukraine when the cabinet of ministers announced that the country’s integration with the EU will be suspended. Mass riots dubbed Euromaidan swept through Ukraine and escalated to mass clashes of nationalist protesters with the police in February.

A coup-like shift in power took place in Kiev on February 22. The Verkhovna Rada impeached president Viktor Yanukovich and amended the constitution. The presidential powers were assigned to the parliament chairman Oleksandr Turchynov, supporter of the released Yulia Tymoshenko. The parliament scheduled presidential election for May 25. Also last Thursday, the Verkhovna Rada approved a so-called government of popular trust. At a news conference in Rostov-on-Don, ousted Yanukovich said that he was forced to leave Ukraine under a threat to his life but he remains the legitimate president of the country.

Arsen Avakov, interim interior ministry, issued an order last week to dissolve the Berkut special forces that had been controlling the protests. Footage available from the riots shows radical groups violently attacking the Berkut officers.
