MOSCOW, May 5 (RAPSI) – Russian Navigation Technologies, the largest developer and manufacturer of the GLONASS/GPS-enabled vehicle tracking and control systems in Russia, has filed for bankruptcy, RAPSI learned in court on Monday.

The hearing at the Moscow Commercial Court has been set for May 20.

Russian Navigation Technologies’ products are marketed under the AutoTracker trademark. It is a platform based on the GLONASS/GPS and Inmarsat technology and is used to comprehensively monitor the location of automobile, river, railway, aircraft and other vehicles, as well as of immovable objects, and to transfer the data via GSM communication systems.

The company was established in 2000 as a student startup. In 2003, it attracted its first client, the Donstroy developer, which needed to track its fleet of hundreds of vehicles.
