MOSCOW, August 4 (RAPSI) - Russian consumer rights regulator, Rospotrebnadzor, reports that it uncovered violations in the sales o bourbon produced by the American "Barton 1972 Distillery" company, according to the statement posted on the service's website on Monday.

The statement says that the Kentucky Gentleman whiskey contains phtalic acids that can trigger functional and, later, organic impediments in both central and peripheral nervous systems, oncological diseases and fertility in both men and women.

In addition, the Kentucky Gentleman bourbon was not registered as an accepted product for circulation in the Customs Union, however it's label sports the "EAC" marker allowing the sale in the Customs Union countries - Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

Previously, Russian food and cosumer authorities increased control over European suppliers of meat and dairy products for the Russian branch of the McDonald’s fast  food chain.

Moscow’s Tverskoi Court spokesperson said last week the court could ban the production of McDonald’s cheeseburgers, Royal Cheeseburgers, Filet-o-Fish sandwiches,

Chicken Burgers, as well as milkshakes and ice cream with fruit toppings. Rospotrebnadzor said that McDonald’s products contain more fat, protein and carbohydrates  than are allowed by the country’s «technological norms.»

Neither service confirmed or denied that the increase safety measures towards American products were a response to a recent batch of economic sanction imposed by the US against Russian companies and individuals.
