MOSCOW, August 24 (RAPSI, Diana Gutsul) – The Investigative Committee of Russia has launched a criminal case against Ukraine’s Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and several other high-ranking military officers over the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare, RAPSI learned on Wednesday.

According to investigators, Ukrainian side of the conflict in Donbas region violated ceasefire agreement. The Committee alleges that Ukrainian military and country’s National Guard periodically carried sighting shelling of civilian infrastructure.

The Committee further stated that attacks against civilians were conducted under orders of Ukraine’s top military brass, including Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak and several other high-ranking officers. Currently the Committee is focused on further collection of evidence.
