MOSCOW, December 14 (RAPSI) – A criminal probe into former State Duma lawmaker Oleg Mikheyev, accused of fraud and attempting to steal over two billion rubles ($33.9 mln) from Promsvyazbank, has been finished, Kommersant newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Investigators allege that Mikheyev was involved in the illegal acquisition of 14 real estate sites of the Volgograd Motor Plant worth more than 500 million roubles.

The case is expected to be forwarded to the the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The State Duma, lower house of parliament, voted in February 2013 to strip Mikheyev of parliamentary immunity and to open the criminal case against him. 

Mikheyev denies any wrongdoing, according to Kommersant.
