MOSCOW, January 11 (RAPSI, Oleg Sivozhelezov) – Russian President Vladimir Putin during the grand meeting arranged to coincide with the 295th anniversary of the Prosecutor General’s Office called on prosecutors to improve supervision over validity of audits of businesses by regulatory bodies.

Fair businesses must be effectively protected by the state, in particular from unfounded checks and other kinds of pressure, the President stated.

Putin said during the meeting that over 150,000 violations connected with the exercise of state and municipal control in relation to businessmen were detected by prosecutors in 2016.

The President also listed participation in combatting corruption as important aspect of prosecutors’ work.
