MOSCOW, March 29 (RAPSI) – President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Deputy Justice Minister Georgy Matyushkin from the post of Representative of the Russian Federation at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

The respective order signed by the President was published on the official website of legal information on Wednesday.

Matyushkin was appointed as Russia’s Representative at the ECHR in August 2008. Prior to that, he acted as Adviser and Deputy Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District. Matyushkin is a Full State Counsellor of Justice 1st Class of the Russian Federation. He has been awarded the Order of Friendship and Presidential citation, according to the Justice Ministry’s website.
