MOSCOW, May 19 (RAPSI) - President Vladimir Putin has appointed Deputy Justice Minister Mikhail Galperin as Representative of the Russian Federation at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

The respective order signed by the President was published on the official website of legal information on Friday.

The order has become effective.

According to the Justice Ministry’s website, Galperin was appointed to the post of Deputy Justice Minister upon the presidential decree of September 28, 2015.

Earlier, Putin dismissed Deputy Justice Minister Georgy Matyushkin from the post of Russia’s Representative at ECHR. He held this position from August 2008 to March 2017.
