MOSCOW, May 29 (RAPSI) – A court in the Moscow Region has ruled to place a head of Kotelniki city district charged with embezzling 115 million rubles ($1.8 million) under house arrest, the press-service of the regional Investigative Committee has reported.

According to investigators, the head of Kotelniki was arrested as part of investigation into fraudulent obtaining of rights on land plot deeds. Investigators believe that seven more officials including a chief of the land resources department also took part in the alleged crime.

The official website of Kotelniki lists Irina Polnikova as the city district head.

City district is a municipal formation type in Russia that unites several settlements.
