MOSCOW, August 3 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman said on Friday that the number of extremist crimes had decreased for the first time during the last few years.

Moreover, the rate of crimes of terrorist nature dropped by 14 percent, the official announced during the meeting of the Prosecutor General’s Office summarizing the results of work in the first half of 2018.

Buksman also stated during the meeting that it is necessary to especially control the problems of observance of fundamental constitutional rights of citizens and prevent illegal opening of criminal cases and detention of suspected and accused persons.
