MOSCOW, October 5 (RAPSI) – Russian Commissioner for Human Rights received over 10,000 applications related to the protection of citizens’ rights in criminal proceedings in 2018, a statement published on the ombudsman’s website reads.

Violated rights of applicants were restored in 226 cases, according to the press release. In particular, prosecutors and investigators overturned 78 orders to dismiss criminal complaint, opened 8 criminal cases, reversed 23 orders to suspend preliminary investigation and 16 rulings on termination of criminal cases.
