MOSCOW, November 26 (RAPSI) – Russia’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova received more than 30,000 complaints from citizens in 2018 and helped in the restoration of rights to 60,000 people, the ombudsman told journalists Monday.

According to Moskalkova, there is a tendency to the increase in collective applications number. The lodged complaints are mostly related to labor and housing disputes. However, there are also a lot of applications concerning health field, she said.

The ombudsman plans to restore the rights of 60,000 people more this year.

Complaints related to criminal procedure issues take the second place after applications on social matters. They include such problems as efficiency and terms of criminal investigations, violence in penitentiary facilities, poor realization of a right to visits in detention centers or prisons and long-term detention, Moskalkova added.
