MOSCOW, February 19 (RAPSI) – Russia’s High Commissioner of Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova has received information on the rights violation of 43 Russian nationals held in custody in Ukraine, the ombudsman’s press service has told RAPSI.
In this regard the Ombudsman’s Office has sent an application to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s consular department asking its employees to visit the inmates and report their health and custodial conditions, and medical support delivery.
Moreover, Moskalkova has forwarded petitions to the Ukrainian rights commissioner Lyudmila Denisova in relation to the health condition of two Russian citizens, convict Vyacheslav Vysotsky and detainee Yevgeny Mefedov.
