MOSCOW, December 17 (RAPSI) – The efficiency of the Russian ombudsman office’s work has increased in the last three years, according to the country’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova.

Over 3,500 of 140,000 applications lodged with the ombudsman’s office in the past three years were settled positively, Moskalkova said on Tuesday during the III International Conference on Problems of Human Rights Protection at the Eurasian space.

According to the ombudsman, during the said period, over 500 people received housing or social benefits for house-buying, 60,000 citizens were paid salary after delays, over 1,000 victims were rendered assistance in criminal proceedings.
