MOSCOW, February 17 (RAPSI) – More than one hundred probes into violations of citizens’ rights during unlawful rallies in Moscow are underway; no such reports has not been yet supported by evidence, according to Moscow Rights Commissioner Tatiana Potyayeva.

The Moscow Ombudsman has requested the Main Interior Ministry Directorate for Moscow, the Main Directorate of the National Guard, the city Prosecutor’s Office to provide information as to reports of violation of the rights of rally participants, among those in the Donskoy District Directorate of Internal Affairs and infliction of bodily harm to a YouTube channel operator during the rally of February 2. According to the Main Interior Ministry Directorate for Moscow, veterans of the Public Council at the body have formed a special commission to inspect the reports published by media outlets. In the result of the probe, no evidence has been found to support the allegations, Potyayeva reported to a meeting of the Moscow City Duma.

The Moscow Rights Commissioner received 90 reports of violations of citizens’ rights, all applications are under her personal control, she said.

Unauthorized rallies took place over numerous Russian cities and towns on January 23, later such meetings took place on January 31 and February 2.
