BRYANSK, December 13 - RAPSI. Two businessmen from Bryansk, Russia and Mogilev, Belarus, who organized a supply chain of modern service pistols from Europe will spend three and four years in prison respectively, a representative of the regional Federal Security Service (FSB) told RIA Novosti.

He said that the chain started operating in 2010, when the men were discovered by law enforcement officers smuggling in weapons from western and eastern European countries.

Investigators found that the Belarusian entrepreneur, who sold consumer goods in the Bryansk Region, became friends with his Bryansk's colleague as both had a keen interest in military ammunition, awards and weapons. They later hit on an idea to try supplying modern pistols and ammunition from Europe to the Bryansk Region via Belarus.

The Belarusian businessman worked out the cost of each gun and the ammunition, while the Bryansk man marked up the price at the point of sale. The buyers included noted members of criminal organizations.

"A total of 10 weapons were confiscated from the detained. The pistols included Slovakian ARROW, Hungary's PA-63, a 9mm Browning, more than 500 modern units of ammunition, two RGD-33 frag grenades, a self-made 1.5 kg TNT explosive device, and cold weapons," the service's representative said.
