MOSCOW, November 22 - RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin. A commercial court will examine on November 29 the validity of a statement filed by an electromechanical plant for Kurganmashzavod's insolvency, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency.

Kovrov Electromechanical Plant is a defendant in the case. Kurganmashzavod is owned by Concern Tractor Plants.

Kovrov Electromechanical Plant submitted on September 29 a statement to declare Kurganmashzavod bankrupt. The plaintiff requested to initiate bankruptcy proceedings regarding the debtor and to recognize the debt amounting to 131.964 million rubles ($4.25 million).

The Moscow and Kurgan Region Commercial Courts are hearing lawsuits filed by the Defense Ministry against Kurganmashzavod worth several billion rubles. A lawsuit on the recovery of 2.071 billion rubles ($66.7 million) deals with an unfulfilled contract dated April 13, 2007 for BMP-3 supplies.

Kurganmashzavod manufactures military equipment and multipurpose utilities construction machines with a carrying capacity of 400, 600, 800 and 1,000 kilograms.

Its total production volumes for the first half of 2011 were 4.112 billion rubles ($132.46 million).

Concern Tractor Plants comprises mechanical engineering plants, Denmark's Silvatec Skovmaskiner A/S, Germany's Luirpoldhuette, Austria's Vogel & Noot, and a number of construction agencies and trade companies.
