MOSCOW, February 6 - RAPSI, Natalia Belova. The Moscow Commercial Court declared on Monday the $31 million supplemental tax claims to VimpelCom unlawful.

The court has quashed a profit tax supplementary assessment of 870 million rubles ($28.7 million), additional VAT charges of 69 million rubles ($2.3 million), and the relevant fines and penalties.

The court has satisfied the company's lawsuit in full.

VimpelCom is one of Russia's largest integrated telecommunications services operators offering a wide range of wireless, fixed, and broadband services. Its sole shareholder is Dutch Vimpelcom Ltd.

VimpelCom filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Commercial Court on July 15 to revoke the Federal Tax Service's March 30 decision to charge the company an additional 939.836 million rubles ($31 million) in taxes.

The tax service decided to charge the company additional taxes after the tax authorities held an on-site audit of VimpelCom's activities between 2007 and 2008.
