MOSCOW, November 13 - RAPSI. The investigation of the kidnapping of Kapersky Lab CEO Yevgeny Kaspersky's son has closed, Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

"The case materials will be forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for approval," Markin said.

The investigation found that Nikolai Savelyev, his son Nikolai Savelyev, Sergei Gromov, Oleg Mayukov and Alexei Ustimchuk, who currently stand accused of abduction, had been watching the CEO's twenty-year-old son Ivan since March 2011.

The Investigative Committee reports that on April 19, 2011, the suspects seized the young man, put him in their car, handcuffed and blindfolded him, and took him to an area in the Moscow Region where he was held until his release on April 24, 2011.

After negotiations with the young man's parents, the kidnappers agreed to inform them of his condition. The Savelyevs and Ustimchuk were arrested on the same day. Gromov was detained earlier. Three of the men had previous convictions.

A criminal case was opened against them on kidnapping and extortion charges, which are punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
