MOSCOW, November 28 - RAPSI, Saria Kiut. The European Court of Human Rights has registered the application filed by Artyom Savyolov, who was involved in the Bolotnaya Square riots in Moscow, Dmitry Kolbasin, who heads the Information Department at the Agora interregional human rights organization, said on Wednesday.

The Moscow City Court dismissed Savyolov's appeal on Wednesday against the extension of his arrest. The defendant's arrest has therefore been extended until March 6, 2013.

The Investigative Committee has charged Savyolov with using non-life-threatening violence against law enforcement officers and taking part in violent mass riots.

Savyolov denied the charges during his interrogation.

Clashes with police flared up during an opposition march in Moscow on May 6. The public demonstration had been granted a city permit. Dozens of protesters and police officers were injured as police detained over 400 protesters. Ten individuals are currently on remand.
