MOSCOW, October 31 (RAPSI) – Investigators have brought charges against Vnukovo airport engineer Vladimir Ledenev in the criminal case over Total CEO Cristophe de Margerie’s death, official spokesman for the Investigative Committee told journalists on Friday.

Investigative Committee’s rep Vladimir Markin added that lead engineer Ledenev was questioned as a suspect and placed in detention.

Markin said that the investigation continues probes into actions of the flight executive officer and the driver of the snow plow vehicle, and they will be charged shortly.

Total CEO Christophe de Margerie died in the crash of his Falcon 50 private jet on the evening of October 23 at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport along with three crew members, all French citizens. The aircraft, which was scheduled to depart to Paris, hit a snow removal vehicle during takeoff.

On Wednesday, the investigators charged air traffic control trainee Svetlana Krivsun, 23, with violation of air traffic rules which resulted in death of two and more people. She faces up to seven years in prison.
