MOSCOW, October 9 (RAPSI) – A former chief of the internal investigation service of Russia's largest space company Energia Ilya Shenderey has received a 3-year suspended sentence in a graft case.

His case has been heard separately from other defendants as he has signed a plea deal, the statement reads, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.

According to investigators, in April 2018, ex-deputy CEO of Energia Alexey Beloborodov decided to illegally obtain money for acting in the interests of an organization, which signed a 300-million-ruble repair contract with the space company.

To realize his criminal intent, he involved his subordinates, Shenderey and main anti-corruption specialist Oleg Pylnev, in the crime, investigators claimed. One of them told an organization’s representative about a demand to transfer 10% of premium, over 31 million rubles, to the Energia management for further signing of all statements of acceptance and common protection.

On July 25, 2018, the defendants received 965,000 rubles and later were arrested.
