MOSCOW, April 9 - RAPSI. The State Duma will consider the Civil Code amendments proposed by President Dmitry Medvedev in the first reading on April 27, Legislative Committee head Pavel Krasheninnikov said.

He noted the authorities will spare no efforts to adopt the amendments by September 2012.

Medvedev submitted the amendments regarding fundamental civil rights institutions to the State Duma. He said it took a long time to develop a well-balanced draft law that "will not damage the Civil Code’s fundamentals."

He also expressed hope that the amended code will improve the investment climate in Russia.

The amendments have been under development for several years. However, they are expected to be up to date as 15 years have passed since the first section of the Civil Code was adopted.
