MOSCOW, November 5 (RAPSI) – President Putin has signed into law a ban on the promotion and public use of paraphernalia or symbols of organizations that collaborated with the Nazis and those that deny the facts established at the Nuremberg Trials.

This law will amend the law on the immortalization of the Soviet people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the Code of Administrative Offences. It was adopted by the State Duma on October 24 and approved by the Federation Council on October 29.

The penalty for these violations will be a fine ranging from 1,000 rubles ($23.60) to 2,000 rubles ($47.20) or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.

Officials can be fined between 1,000 rubles and 4,000 rubles ($94.40), and legal entities between 10,000 rubles ($235.90) and 50,000 rubles ($1,180).

Fines for the production or sale of this paraphernalia and symbols for promotional purposes will be up to 2,500 rubles for individuals, 2,000 to 5,000 rubles ($112.65) for officials and between 20,000 rubles ($471.90) and 100,000 rubles ($1,360) for legal entities.
