MOSCOW, January 30 - RAPSI. The police detained the federal unitary enterprise's head suspected of stealing 1.5 billion rubles ($49.8 million) from the Moscow budget, Roman Mikhailov, head of the press service of the Interior Ministry's department, told RIA Novosti.

"Andrei Barkanov, head of the Department for the Reconstruction and Development of Unique Facilities, is suspected of the fraud. He has been put into custody," Mikhailov said.

According to Mikhailov, the stolen funds were allocated to solve the problems of deceived investors.
