MOSCOW, June 6 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Ombudsman Tatiana Moskalkova has backed an expert proposal to create a new state digital platform for interdepartmental interaction in the criminal process.
According to Moskalkova, a platform for the electronic interaction between citizens and state bodies by sending messages, applications, motions, copies of judgments and decisions is worthy of notice.
As she stated, the creation of such system will extend the volume of operations realized via new technologies as part of initiation, investigation and solving of criminal cases. It will also simplify the process of filing and registration of crime reports, provide fixing of automatic investigative jurisdiction and improve guaranteeing of the criminal process parties’ rights, her report submitted to the President of Russia reads.
Moskalkova also considers it expedient to extend the list of persons having rights to the distant participation in the proceedings and implement electronic communications between investigative and judicial authorities.
All these measures require amendments to the criminal procedure legislation, the report’s authors point.
