ST. PETERSBURG, June 29 (RAPSI) – Estimated losses of the global economy from cybercrimes accounted for 6 trillion dollars in 2021, Dmitry Bukin, Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s International Information Security Department, said during the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum on Wednesday.

However, according to the expert, this rate can reach 9–11 trillion dollars by 2025.

The 10th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum started on June 28. It is held by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation. The mission of the Forum is to promote ways of modernizing law in light of the changes taking place around the globe today, according to its official website.
