Altyn Jewelry Holding vice-president Antonina Babosyuk (left) was released from the Lefortovo pretrial detention center on 30 million ruble bail. Her mother Galina Stepanova greeted her at the gates. Babosyuk has been charged with illegal gold trafficking.
The Supreme Court decided to change the measure of restraint against Altyn vice-president from detention to release on bail on May 13. In doing so, the chamber revoked the Moscow City Court’s decision to extend Babosyuk’s arrest until July 7.
"I’m determined to fight,” Babosyuk told journalists. “I’m hopeful that the Altyn case will end successfully for us. We have studied 20 of 68 volumes of the case so far.”
Altyn vice-president’s mother, her lawyer and several friends waited for her outside the center. They gave her two bouquets.
"I’ve signed a personal recognizance to appear,” Babosyuk said, adding that she feels well and hopes to catch up on her sleep as soon as she gets home. “I have to go to the investigator at 11.00 a.m. every day to study the case.”
